Myspace selection for Ireland?
Rumours have circulated that Ireland along with other countries such as Germany and Norway may use Spain's myspace idea for selecting a song for Eurovision 2009. In theory this could be a good idea but in practice looking at the problems that plagued the Spanish selection this year I don't think it is a good idea. Mr Chiki Chiki had a very suspicious romp to victory and this was to the peril of other fantastic entries. What do you think?

Yes on the face of it, it sounds like "democracy in action", but in reality it's very manipulable and the evidence of Spain makes me think it's like a bottle of Nuits St Wagga Wagga - for laying down and AVOIDING!
It's so terribly easy to write a simple script that would basically just keep voting for one particular song, its very difficult to safeguard against, it could potentially provide thousands of votes for one song a minute
Why can't Ireland just do a melodifestivalen style selection, as opposed to trying to find 'the holy grail' which clearly hasn't worked for 'em
Have nospace for the myspace idea, Irishfestivalen is the way forward...!
Perhaps:
Galway
Donegal
Cork
Limerick
and an Andra Chansen round at Linda Martin's!
Finally back to the Point (sorry O2)for the finalen!
@ Chris, Lee, anonymous and Melodimen I agree with all your views. As you said Lee it is open to manipulation. An Irish melodifestivalen style competition sounds brilliant! @ Melodimen I'll drop Linda a text later to see if she is in agreement!lol!
That's if you can wake her from her vodka induced slumber Schlager Queen, she tends to hibernate during these long summer months...
@micko
hehe! No speaking shit about our Linda! That out streached arm should be insured as its a legend in itself!
That outstretched arm is merely hiding the Vodka from the TV cameras !!
