What a week!

It has been a great week in Eurovision land!

Firstly a record 684 songs have been submitted for the Danish National final and these include a song written by DQ aka Peter Andersen and Me+My!

Then Ralph Seigel 18 time Eurovision composer inculding schlager classics such as Wir geben 'ne Party and Let's get Happy wants to write the 2009 German entry!

and now Carola has announced her comeback with a new album and tour entitled 'The Four Faces of Carola'! She is also penning an autobiography!

Eurovision season is about to hit us and you can feel the excitement in the air! I love this time filled with rumour and speculation! Viva la Musica Oh Oh Oh!

Campaign for Melodifestivalen host officially open!

Following the news today that Melodifestivalen host Kristian Luuk will no longer be fronting the 2009 edition Schlagerqueen has officially started the campaign to give the job to Lena Ph(MF host '06) or Charlotte Perelli (MF host '03/'04)!

(Carola would have been in there aswell but fears for her safety meant she was eliminated!)

Maybe SVT could run a reality show like they did for the Belgrade hosts where schlager divas battle it out each week to win a place as host?
Challenges could involve:

A. Pretending to be excited that Nordman are about to go on stage and

B. Wiping away a schlager tear as Alcazar strut around the stage!


All suggestions welcome!

According to esctoday The BBC are still researching a number of options for next years national selection.
Initial reports suggested that Lord Webber was going to be the driving force behing an X Factor style show rumoured to be named 'How Do You Solve a Problem like Eurovision?'
With the jury change introduced by the EBU the United Kingdom could finally make the break through they so badly need. So what style of show would you like to see?

If it was to be an internal suggestion who would you like to to represent the U.K.?
(It needs to be realistic aswell..we would all love Leona Lewis/Kylie but it ain't gonna happen!)

Eurovision season begins tonight!!

Eurovision National finals season kick off tonight!
Yahooo!! From tonight until March 14th we begin the exciting journey of 'Oh I love it', 'That's horrendous', 'I can't believe they didn't qualify' and 'What a fantastic key change'!!

Bulgaria starts their preselection tonight presenting 5 songs with 3 to qualify! At 17.40 CET you can watch here.
